Application for Scientific Committee [PCRC2022]

9th Peace and Conflict Resolution Conference [PCRC2022] is looking for Scientific Committee members willing to take part in the selection process and help in preparation of the conference. 

Selected members will be offered:

• Waiver of registration fee for attending the conference
• Listing in all conference documents as a member of the Scientific Committee, including the website, conference brochure and publication of the conference proceedings
• Time slot for presenting a paper if they wish to do so
• Admission to all virtual Tomorrow People events during the time they serve as a Committee member

The role of a Committee member comprises of:

• Abstract reviewing

Review abstracts and for each of them provide recommendations for acceptance/ rejection, based on the relevance to the conference themes, as well as possible suggestions for further clarification or focus on further research.

• Full Paper reviewing

Review the initial and the revised versions of full papers. For each of them, provide, as necessary: suggestions for revision, motives for rejection, or recommendations for acceptance. What is expected here is not only copy editing (correcting spelling, grammar, word usage, etc.), but also and overall content assessment (Is there a clear statement of the research question? Is the research method or approach relevant? Was it properly executed? Are there mistakes, unclarities, lacks or problems? Are the results consistent with the research design?). 

• Attending PCRC committee meetings

Participating in the PCRC Committee calls (60 minutes ZOOM call once a months) and assisting in creating the overall conference experience, including, but not limited to: identifying themes the conference should focus on, topics for panel discussion, help in selecting panelists, promoting call for papers, etc.

Requirements:

• Experience as an educational researcher
• Experience as a referee
• Familiarity with various areas related to peace and conflict studies
• Excellent command in English language 
• Good command in the use of  Word, especially the Track Changes mode and the Insert Comment function of Word
• Availability to perform the reviews within the above mentioned periods of time. ​
